Pop Cap Releases A Balance Update For Plants VS. Zombies Garden Warfare 2

Recently a couple of days ago Pop Cap has released an update for Plants VS. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. The update only focuses on balancing some issues that Pop Cap has noticed when it comes to a particular zombie and plant. The update is a relatively small update with the only 'fixes' being on the two characters. The characters in question are the Rose on the plant's team and Super Brainz on the zombie's team.

The Rose is quite formidable in the right hands and can be quite overwhelming with all her crowd control and tricks at her disposal. She is so small and fast that some players on the zombie team can have a hard time hitting her. Pop Cap has noticed this and has balanced her a bit in a way that gives the zombies a fighting chance to beat her. Her Time Snare ability has been nerfed by reducing the slowing duration from 2.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds. This means that the plants have to react faster to killing the zombies while taking advantage of the snare effect. The Goatify and Psychedelic Goatify abilities have been nerfed as well and the projectiles went from 100 to 35 in speed and now travel slower than they used to. This gives the zombies much more time to dodge the Goatify projectiles. Also, Goatified players can now jump higher. For the zombie players that had a hard time hitting the Rose, Pop Cap thought about that. They increased the hitbox for the Rose, so it is a little easier to actually get a hit on her as a zombie.

If you have ever played PVZ GW 2's online multiplayer, you may have noticed that the majority of your team is Super Brainz as a zombie. This is because Super Brainz is probably one of the strongest characters in the game. He is a melee character with a strong arsenal of moves and even his ranged projectiles such as the Laser Beam are quite powerful. You might have even been killed as a plant by a Super Brainz sniping with his Laser Beam. Unfortunately, Pop Cap has noticed as well and did their best to address the issue. Super Brainz' Laser Beam has had its damage and range reduced and his melee skills increased, to get people to play him how he was intended. His Heroic Kick ability has had its damage reduced from 35 to 12 but it has had its cooldown reduced from 15 seconds to 12 as well as having the number of charges increased from 1 to 2. The knockback of the heroic kick has been removed, however. Super Brainz' Turbo Twister has had its damage reduced from 6 to 2 per tick, its duration reduced from 5 seconds to 3.5, its cooldown increased from 22 to 25 seconds, and had its 25% move speed debuff to enemies near you removed. The Turbo Twister, however, does grant you an armor increase when it is used for better survivability and the speed boost has been increased from 1.1 to 1.35, so the tradeoff isn't too bad.

Other changes include buffs and nerfs to different variants of the Rose and Super Brainz. Most of these changes are much needed as Super Brainz was a Superior character and quite unfair to play against and his melee and range abilities were quite strong. With his high health and his well-roundedness, he quickly became the scourge of the plant team. Although the Rose takes a little more skill to master than Super Brainz, she still was quite unfair to play against. Her small hitbox and speed made her hard to hit and on top of that, she could completely crush her foe by throwing all her crowd controls on an unlucky zombie and kill them before they knew what hit them. This update might possibly fixes some issues that players have come across and makes the game more balanced. Pop Cap says, "There are still a few known issues with these characters that we aim to address in future content updates", so it is possible we will see more changes in the future. Until then we are left to enjoy the game as it is. Details for the update can be found on PVZ GW2'S official site. Plants VS. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 can be played on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and can often be found on sale anywhere from $4.99 to $20.00.
