Star Fox 2 is a 3D space shooter game developed by Nintendo and Argonaut Software for the Super Nintendo (SNES). The game was originally completed in 1996, but didn't see the light of day until 2017, when it released on the Super NES Classic Edition. It also used the Super FX chip like the first Star Fox game, allowing the game to render in 3D and push the Super Nintendo's capabilities. Star Fox 2 went unreleased during the days of Super Nintendo so Nintendo could divert it's time and energy to their upcoming console, the Nintendo 64. Star Fox 2 doesn't follow a linear path like original Star Fox, you get to pick what order you want to do the missions in.
