Air Fortress is a 2D game that is part run 'n' gun and part shoot 'em up. The game was released in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in North America. In Air Fortress, you take control of Hal Bailman, a soldier from the Space Federation who must eliminate all of the Air Fortresses that are consuming all the resources in their paths. When Hal Bailman is in route to an Air Fortress, the game plays like a shoot 'em up type game but when you enter an air fortress, the game becomes a run 'n' gun style game.
