Airwolf is a 2D side-scrolling shooter or 2D simulation game based on a TV series with the same name depending on which version you are playing. The arcade, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, and Atari 8-bit versions of the game offer side-scrolling gameplay, while in the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) version the player controls an Airwolf helicopter from the cockpit. The NES version of the game contains thirty missions or levels, with each mission's objective being to rescue prisoners that are being held captive by enemies.
