Atlantis is a fixed-shooter game developed by Imagic. The game was one of the many at the time that utilized similar fixed-shooter gameplay to the classic Space Invaders. Designer Dennis Koble cited 1981's Colony 7 as the primary inspiration for Atlantis, however. The game has players defending the titular sunken city from invaders by utilizing three cannons to shoot them down, your score increasing with each kill. Atlantis was a part of a competition Atari held (Destination Atlantis) that had players mail in photos of their high scores. Whoever won received a special edition copy of the game under the name 'Atlantis II'.
