Banjo-Kazooie is an action/adventure platforming game developed by Rare, and remains one of their most popular and well-known hits to this day. In it, you play as the tag-team duo Banjo (a bear) and Kazooie (a bird). On your quest to put a stop to the evil witch Gruntilda, you explore nine unique, open-world zones populated with a variety of platforming puzzles, enemies, and collectibles. The gameplay puts an emphasis on teamwork between the two titular characters. Banjo-Kazooie was one of the many 'mascot platformers' of the mid-to-late 90s, a particular niche of gaming that became popularized by Nintendo's Super Mario 64 and Sony's Crash Bandicoot two years earlier.
