Basketball is a sports game that pits two players against each other in a game of (you guessed it) basketball. Designed by Alan Miller, Basketball was one of the earlier games put out for the Atari 2600. It was notable for being both single-player and two-player, as single-player games against an AI opponent were very rare in the late 70s. As with most early Atari games, the graphics were simple, but the gameplay was strategic. You can move your player in 8 different directions, and the goal is to score as many baskets as possible while alternating between offense and defense. The game was so popular that it eventually made its way to arcades.
