Blackthorne is a 2D action platformer game developed by Blizzard Entertainment and originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was later released for MS-DOS and the Sega 32X, including ports to various other systems. Blackthorne takes place on the planet Tuul where the remaining humans have been imprisoned by Sarlac, who uses the Darkstone to gain control of everyone. King Vlaros of Androth sends his son Kyle "Blackthorne" Vlaros to Earth with the Lightstone for safekeeping and he must return back to Tuul many years later to free the people from evil. Kyle has a pump action shotgun that he can use to dispatch enemies, bombs to open doors,  and his wits for a good amount of puzzle solving.
