Chrono Trigger is a 2D role-playing game (RPG) that was developed and published by Square. It was initially released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and was the first game in the Chrono Trigger series of games. Chrono Trigger has similar gameplay to other Square-made RPGs where you navigate by an overworld map, then upon entering the town or dungeon it becomes a more detailed version of that area. The game has 6 playable characters, all from different time periods since the game's story revolves around traveling through time to stop the impending doom.
