EarthBound is an RPG video game developed by Ape, HAL Laboratory, and was published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo. It is known as Mother 2 in Japan and is the second Mother game in the series. In EarthBound, the player controls a party of characters who gets to explore villages, cities, and dungeons. EarthBound takes place after the events from the previous game "Mother", which takes place in the made-up country of Eagleland. The game starts with Ness investigating a meteorite crash but leads to the discovery of aliens, that have taken over and are turning humans, animals, and objects into hostile creatures.
