Red Dead Redemption 2 is the sequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption, and the third overall game in Rockstar's Red Dead series. The game serves as a prequel to RDR, following the exploits of Van der Linde gang member Arthur Morgan. A fellow member of the gang, John Marston, is the eventual protagonist of RDR. Set in the year 1899, RDR2 is set in one of Rockstar's biggest open worlds to date. The gameplay is similar to the first Redemption title, but has more emphasis on interactive and simulation elements to make the moment-to-moment play feel more realistic, all the while set on the backdrop of shootouts, hunts, and heists.
