Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is a platforming/Metroidvania game developed by WayForward. It's the fourth overall game in the Shantae series, though it proved a significant leap forward as the first Shantae on major consoles. You play as the titular Shantae, a half-genie who learns of a deadly evil that only she can defeat. Gameplay is Metroidvania-styled like before, but is broken up into several different stages rather than one giant overworld map. Shantae can use her hair to attack enemies, and can dance to transform into a wide variety of different forms to overcome platforming obstacles.
