Battletoads is a 2D beat 'em up game developed by Rare and published by Tradewest that was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This was the first Battletoads game in a long series of Battletoads games. Battletoads was inspired by the popular franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a lot of the beat 'em up mechanics were copied. The game follows the story of Rash, Zitz, and Pimple, who were captured by the Dark Queen's ship while they are enjoying a ride in Pimple's flying car.
